Nothing to Lose – new track by Lars Skorsen Project

The band and recording lineup

This time, the recording of Adrian’s original composition, leader of the Lars Skorsen Project, brought together musicians who have been collaborating with him since September last year. Vocalist Joanna Dykacz-Cierpich, bassist Marcin Morzyk, and drummer Tomasz Mackiewicz, who also wrote the lyrics, contributed with their unique energy and style.

Guest appearance by Tomek Chmiel

The band was once again joined by Tomek Chmiel on keyboards, who recorded his parts in Poland. The entire track was produced in Adrian’s recording studio.

Lyrics and message of the song

“Nothing to Lose” is a protest song, with lyrics by Tomasz Mackiewicz addressing issues of today’s society.

A manifesto of freedom of speech

Mackiewicz explains that the piece reflects a reality in which having a different opinion can easily make someone an enemy. It is a protest against exclusion, hate, and enforced silence – a manifesto of courage and the right to independence.

Sound and musical style

The composition “Nothing to Lose” combines the rock energy of the band with Adrian’s distinctive sound.

Progressive rock elements and time signature changes

In the second part of the track, tempo and time signature shifts occur twice, giving the song its progressive edge. These changes add intensity, dynamics, and a unique musical character.

Lyrics of “Nothing to Lose”

Behind their closed eyes

You can’t see what's in their mind

Standing there and waiting for

If you’ll open your minds doors

And all you can think is

They’re gonna hurt you!

Turning away to catch a breath

Will it be the day of your own death?

Breaking the chains of innocence

This will not happen in silence

And all you can think is

They’re gonna hunt you!

Running away to see the sun

It’s not the end, and you can’t be gone

But all their words are burning you

It’s time to decide what is true!

And all you can think is

They’re gonna kill you!

You know their words are so untrue

But is there something you could do?

Let's fight them back, there’s still time

I will be your partner in crime

And all you can think is

We’re gonna break through!

We’re gonna break through!

This is our fight for truth

You’re not gonna break us

We have nothing to lose!
