On Monday evening, 10 November 2025, within the walls of the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, resounded melodies that carried the audience on a journey through history, emotion, and the beauty of Polish identity.
On the occasion of National Independence Day, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Manchester, led by Consul General Ireneusz Truszkowski, organised a special concert that brought together a large Polish community.
The evening began with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by an address delivered by the Consul General of the Republic of Poland. In his speech, he emphasised the importance of community, historical memory, and national pride that unite Poles living across the world.
The highlight of the event was the concert by the renowned ensemble Affabre Concinui, The Polish Chamber Singers, who have captivated audiences in Poland and abroad for decades. The artists, rooted in the Poznań choral tradition, presented a programme ranging from Renaissance works to contemporary classics, including compositions by Vivaldi, Bach, and Chopin, as well as the moving “Czerwone maki na Monte Cassino” and the evocative “What a Wonderful World.”
Every note, every harmony carried a depth of emotion from pride to tenderness, from reflection to pure sentiment. The audience expressed their admiration openly; Affabre Concinui enchanted listeners with precision, sound culture, and exceptional artistic elegance.
After the concert, guests had the opportunity to converse and celebrate together in an atmosphere of national unity.
During the event, Consul General Ireneusz Truszkowski gave an interview to Wyspa TV, in which he shared his reflections on the meaning of independence, the role of the Polish diaspora in preserving Polish culture, and the mission of diplomacy in building bridges between nations.
The concert impressed on every level. Its beautiful setting, excellent organisation, and deeply considered artistic programme made it one of the best-prepared patriotic events of recent years.
We were truly enchanted.
