On February 5, 2022, the Jubilee 50th Polish Ball took place in the historic Guildhall in London, the administrative and ceremonial centre of the City of London. This prestigious event marked a special moment in the cultural and social calendar of the British Polish community, blending tradition, culture, and charitable activities.

The honorary patron of the Jubilee edition was Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, who expressed his appreciation for the event in an official letter. He emphasized its significance as a bridge between Poland and the United Kingdom. He extended his gratitude to the Organizing Committee for their hard work and dedication in preparing such an extraordinary celebration. The Prince wished all attendees an unforgettable evening celebrating Polish culture and art.

The Polish Ball has long been renowned as the most important Polish community event with a charitable focus in the United Kingdom. This year’s edition brought together numerous distinguished guests, including Polish Ambassadors and Anna Maria Anders, Polish Ambassador to Italy. Members of the British royal family also attended, further highlighting the event’s prestige.

The evening’s program was vibrant and filled with attractions. Kasia Madera, a BBC television presenter, and Marzena Rogalska, a well-known television and radio journalist, hosted the event. The evening stars included Natalia Kukulska and Grzegorz Wilk, with additional performances by the Mazury Song and Dance Ensemble, whose shows captivated the audience.

The Polish Ball is a unique opportunity for social gatherings and a chance to support noble causes. During the Jubilee edition, funds were raised to support the Mother and Child Shelter and Pregnant Women in Łabunie near Zamość. The charity auctions, an integral part of the evening, achieved record-breaking sums, and the generosity of the attendees was truly invaluable.

Initiated in 1970 as the Emigration Ball, the event has consistently brought together the Polish community in the UK, fostering enduring relationships and shared values. Again, This year’s edition affirmed its unwavering prestige and popularity, with attendance exceeding expectations. The limited seating resulted in a waiting list of 80 individuals.

Elegant attire, exquisite menus, and the communal singing of the national anthem create the Polish Ball’s distinctive atmosphere. This celebration of Polish-British friendship will remain an unforgettable experience for all who attended.

Wyspa TV extends heartfelt thanks to the Organizing Committee for their trust and to all participants for their contributions to the event’s success. For those who missed out on tickets this year, there is good news—the next Polish Ball will take place next year, and we will undoubtedly be part of it.
