Warsaw is preparing for one of the most significant political and state events in recent years. On August 6, 2025, Karol Nawrocki, former President of the Institute of National Remembrance, will officially assume the office of President of the Republic of Poland. The inauguration ceremonies will be solemn, symbolic, and multi-staged, encompassing all key areas of state life from parliament, through the Church and the military, to direct contact with citizens.
At 10:00 a.m., the National Assembly, a joint session of the Sejm and the Senate, will convene in the Polish Parliament. Marshal of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia will open the session, and President-elect Karol Nawrocki will take the official oath of allegiance to the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. He will then deliver his first address as Head of State. This moment, defined by the words “The good of the Homeland and the prosperity of its citizens will always be my highest obligation,” will formally mark the beginning of his five-year term.
Before the session begins, an official welcome of both presidential couples is planned. Special media zones have also been designated to allow coverage of these key moments.
Immediately following the National Assembly, between 10:45 and 10:51 a.m., President Nawrocki will lay flowers in the Parliament under commemorative plaques honouring, among others, President Lech Kaczyński, Pope John Paul II, and the victims of the Smolensk air disaster. This gesture sends a clear signal of continuity of remembrance and respect for predecessors and the dramatic events that have left a mark on contemporary Poland.
At 12:00 p.m., a Holy Mass will be held at St. John's Archcathedral in Warsaw, offered for the intention of the Homeland and the new President. The liturgy will be led by the Primate of Poland, Archbishop Wojciech Polak, and the homily will be delivered by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Warsaw, Adrian Galbas. This spiritual element of the ceremony draws on the centuries-old tradition of uniting state matters with communal prayer for the well-being of the country and its leaders.
At 2:00 p.m., a ceremony will take place at the Royal Castle, during which President Nawrocki will be symbolically granted Grand Mastership over the Order of the White Eagle and the Order of Polonia Restituta. This is not merely a formality but an expression of his commitment to the highest national values. President Nawrocki will also deliver his inaugural speech as the custodian of Poland’s most prestigious state decorations.

At 3:15 p.m., Karol Nawrocki and his wife will officially enter the Presidential Palace as the new presidential couple. They will be greeted in front of the building by the Representative Company of the Polish Armed Forces and a military orchestra, a gesture steeped in the tradition and majesty of the Republic.
The next point of the program will be the ceremonial assumption of command over the Polish Armed Forces. This will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Marshal Józef Piłsudski Square. The President will receive a report from the Chief of the General Staff, deliver a speech, and review a military parade. He will also lay wreaths at the monuments commemorating the Smolensk disaster, President Lech Kaczyński, and Marshal Józef Piłsudski, uniting tradition, tragedy, and national heroism in a single symbolic act.
The final stage of this momentous day is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. President Nawrocki, accompanied by his family, will appear on Krakowskie Przedmieście to meet with the residents of Warsaw and guests gathered near the Presidential Palace. This is a deeply symbolic moment, a transition from the walls of power to the people who entrusted him with it.
August 6, 2025, will go down in history as the day Poland entered a new chapter with a new President, a new presidential style, and new expectations for the nation’s highest office. These ceremonies, rich in references to history, tradition, and community, serve as a reminder that the presidency is not merely a position; it is a mission of service to the nation.
