In the Rhythm of the Eighties: The KADAR Band and Their Musical Journey with the Album Tańczmy

Interview with band KaDar

The KADAR band, created by Krzysztof Rydzelewski and Dariusz Gajda

The KADAR band, created by Krzysztof Rydzelewski and Dariusz Gajda, takes listeners on an unforgettable journey back to the vibrant 1980s with their album Tańczmy. This twelve-track project, inspired by the essence of each month of the year, blends modern sounds with the nostalgia of the past. The album, combining dance energy with introspection, encourages the celebration of life.

An emotional journey through time and creative challenges with the album Tańczmy.

Creating this album was an emotional journey for the artists. Dariusz Gajda recalls the 1980s as a time when discos brought joy and freedom in the challenging era of communism. In these moments of inspiration, dreams were born, now reflected in their music. "Discos of that era were true oases of joy and spontaneity," Gajda shares. Krzysztof Rydzelewski recalls the influence of Rena Rolska and Jerzy Połomski, outstanding figures in Polish music to whom the album is dedicated. Rydzelewski nostalgically describes their humility and openness, which served as his inspiration.

The creative process and collaboration.

The creators emphasize that the creative process was both a challenge and an opportunity to explore various musical styles. Each track tells a distinct story inspired by the changing seasons. "Working on this project required full commitment and openness to new ideas," Rydzelewski notes. The album features contributions from renowned musicians, including violinist Ilona Perz-Golka and saxophonist Michał Borowski. "Their input enriched the sound and gave the album its unique character," adds Gajda. The artistic vision was complemented by album graphics designed by Katarzyna Makowiecka and a photo session by Beata Wróblewska.

KaDar: Art as a tool for social change and support for young talents.

KADAR’s activities extend far beyond the music scene. The artists have been involved in charitable projects for years, supporting seniors, individuals with disabilities, and children from orphanages. In 2022, they completed the Gloria Victis project, with proceeds donated to Warsaw Uprising veterans. "Our music has the power to connect people and inspire action," the artists highlight. Their charitable endeavours include numerous performances at concerts for seniors and individuals facing life’s difficulties, proving that art can be a tool for real social change.

Education and Support for Young Talent

Over the years, KADAR has established a strong presence on the Polish music scene, not only through their work but also by engaging in the education of young artists. "We eagerly share our experience with young musicians, organizing workshops and meetings to help them take their first steps in the industry," Gajda explains. Their workshops include training in diction, self-presentation, and building an artistic image, offering invaluable support to newcomers.

The enthusiastic reception of the album Tańczmy and a return to timeless sounds.

The Tańczmy album received enthusiastic acclaim from both critics and audiences. Its premiere at the Kamienica Theater in Warsaw drew a full house, confirming the need to address timeless themes in music. "We were surprised by the number of positive reviews about our songs, which motivates us to keep creating," Rydzelewski summarizes. Tracks from the album quickly gained popularity, with music videos for songs like "Autumn Samba" and "Memories of Our Youth" becoming symbols of a nostalgic journey through time.

KADAR: Plans for the future and a musical message that connects generations.

The KADAR band optimistically looks to the future, planning new projects that promise to be just as inspiring and full of passion. Their plans include releasing another album and organizing thematic concerts tailored to modern audiences’ needs. "Our music is not just about sound but about stories told with heart and authenticity," the artists emphasize.

Reflections and Message

KADAR believes that music is a universal language that bridges generations and cultures. Their message of love, respect, and openness is evident in their work and social and educational efforts. "We aim to inspire others by showing that it’s worth pursuing dreams and working on oneself, regardless of obstacles," Gajda concludes.

The Tańczmy album is an expression of artistic passion and proof that music can serve as a bridge between the past and the present, uniting people in a shared rhythm.
