In 1896, Szczepanik developed an innovative photoelectric method for weaving tapestries and multicoloured decorative materials. This technology enabled the creation of complex patterns on fabrics in significantly less time than traditional methods.

Numerous joint-stock companies, established in Austria, England, Germany, and Poland, managed the exploitation of Szczepanik’s inventions. The widespread adoption of his technology attests to its extraordinary value and innovative character.

One of Szczepanik's most spectacular achievements was the creation of the tapestry "Apotheosis," measuring 120x148 cm, made to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I. This masterpiece of textile technique remains an example of the possibilities opened by Szczepanik's method to this day.

Furthermore, the inventor introduced the so-called "szczepaniki"—miniature tapestries placed on postcards. These small art pieces allowed a broader audience to enjoy the beauty and precision of the tapestries without the need for large exhibition spaces.
