This Code of Ethics (the “Code”) sets out the rules of conduct applicable to members of the Jury Panel of Stars Night Awards 2026 (the “Panel”, “Jurors”).
The purpose of this Code is to ensure:
Impartiality of the evaluation process;
Transparency;
Protection of the Event’s reputation;
Compliance with the laws of England and Wales.
This Code forms an integral part of the Stars Night Awards 2026 Competition Regulations.
This Code operates in accordance with:
Companies Act 2006
Bribery Act 2010
Equality Act 2010
Defamation Act 2013
Data Protection Act 2018
UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR)
Principles of common law
Principles of good corporate governance
A Juror shall evaluate nominees exclusively on the basis of the established competition criteria.
A Juror must not be influenced by:
Personal relationships;
Financial interests;
External pressures;
Personal biases or sympathies.
In the event of a conflict of interest, the Juror must promptly disclose it to the Organiser.
A conflict of interest arises in particular where a Juror:
Has a family, professional, or financial relationship with a nominee;
Has collaborated with a nominee within the past 24 months;
May derive a direct or indirect benefit from the awarding of a prize.
In the event of a conflict of interest, the Juror shall:
Recuse themselves from evaluating the relevant nominee or category;
Refrain from participating in any discussion concerning that nominee.
A Juror is obliged to maintain confidentiality regarding:
Personal data of nominees;
Scoring results prior to the official announcement.
The deliberations of the Panel.
The obligation of confidentiality shall remain in force after the conclusion of the Event.
The following are strictly prohibited:
Offering any benefit or gratification to a Juror;
Exerting pressure with the intention of influencing an evaluation outcome.
Any attempts at corruption shall be reported in accordance with the Bribery Act 2010.
Breach of this provision shall result in immediate removal from the Panel.
Jurors shall comply with the principles of equal treatment in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
It is strictly prohibited to discriminate against nominees on the basis of:
Gender;
Race;
Ethnic origin;
Religion;
Sexual orientation;
Disability;
Age.
A Juror is obliged to safeguard the good name of the Stars Night Awards and the Organiser.
Public statements made by a Juror concerning the Competition must not damage the reputation of nominees or the Organiser.
In the event of reputational harm, the Organiser may remove the Juror from the Panel.
A Juror shall:
Submit evaluations within the designated timeframe.
Thoroughly review all relevant materials;
Act in good faith (good faith principle).
A Juror may not delegate their duties to any third party.
The Organiser reserves the right to remove a Juror in cases of:
Breach of this Code;
Conduct contrary to the interests of the Event;
Failure to disclose a conflict of interest in a timely manner;
Violation of applicable law.
The Organiser’s decision shall be final.
A Juror shall process nominees’ data solely to the extent necessary for the performance of jury duties.
A Juror must comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Data must not be copied, distributed, or used for private purposes.
This Code enters into force on the date a Juror is appointed to the Panel.
Each Juror confirms acceptance of this Code by submitting a declaration of acceptance to the email address provided by the Organiser in official correspondence.
This Code is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
